On the Nile Corniche in an area of 104 thousand square meters, half of which are green gardens "Former President Jamal Abdel Nasser” chose to establish a hospital that would be a haven for the poor and rich of Egyptians who need careful specialized treatment. The idea remained frozen due to what Egypt has passed after the 1967 until its establishment in the 1980s. He didn't know at that time that the medical edifice, that later took his name, will be a haven for Arabs crossing the seas to shelter and rely on his doctors.

On July 12, 1987, it was inaugurated as part of the commemoration of the 23 July Revolution, in commemoration of its leader, the late leader Jamal Abdel-Nasser, and since its inception the Institute has been affiliated with the Cairo Therapeutic Foundation until it was transferred to the specialized medical centers of the Ministry of Health.

The Institute consists of a main building and nine attached buildings with a capacity of 682 beds. The Institute includes a number of university professors and consultants with degrees and fellowships from inside and outside Egypt to cover almost all specializations and precision specializations, along with cadres from the most competent nursing staff, technicians and assistants with a high level of expertise.
