"Economic Alternatives for the Global South" on the table of dialogue of the fourth version of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership

The Ministry of Youth and Sports held today, Saturday evening, the events of the fourth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, a dialogue session entitled "Economic Alternatives for the Global South", in the presence of Hassan Ghazaly, General Coordinator of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, and a group of leaders of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, media and journalists.

The closing dialogue session hosted within the framework of the activities of the fourth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, which came about the economic alternatives to the global south, hosted Ambassador Dominic Goh, Singapore's Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Samuel Igaba, a researcher at the Center for Mediation in Africa at the University of Pretoria, and juliana celidonio degani, Director General of the European Commission for International Partnership, and the session was moderated by Rafaello Berigo.

Ambassador Dominic Goh, the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Egypt, expressed at the beginning of his speech in the closing dialogue session held on Saturday evening within the activities of the fourth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, his happiness to be present in this important fellowship among a distinguished group of young leaders participating from different countries of the world In the fourth installment of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, he reviewed during his speech in that dialogue session the pioneering Singaporean economic experience, in addition to discussing economic alternatives for the global south.

Dr. Samuel Igba, a researcher at the Center for Mediation in Africa at the University of Pretoria, stressed at the beginning of his speech in the closing dialogue session held on Saturday evening within the activities of the fourth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, that he is pleased and proud to be in that important session of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, referring in his speech to the economic alternatives to the global south.

For her part,  juliana celidonio degani, Director General of the European Commission for International Partnership, expressed at the beginning of her speech in the closing dialogue session held on Saturday evening within the activities of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, her happiness to be present among the young leaders participating in the fourth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, and her thanks to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for organizing this important fellowship , and addressed in her speech the need to search for new economic alternatives in the global south.

The young leaders participating in the fourth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership directed a number of questions, inquiries and interventions after the speakers finished their speeches in the session held at the end of Saturday from the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, which came about economic alternatives to the global south, then the participants in the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership took souvenir photos amid great interaction, joy and happiness by all with this distinguished session and the important information they obtained.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, explained that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership was keen to raise the voice of the African continent globally. The Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership started in its first edition in June 2019 as an (African African) fellowship with the participation of young leaders from about 28 African countries coinciding with Egypt's presidency of the African Union. The continental and international extension of the Nasser Fellowship reached about 93 countries around the world, 49 of which are in Africa, noting that the Nasser Fellowship was keen during its previous versions to discuss the most prominent African issues on the dialogue table and came out with many recommendations that were in turn raised to the decision maker.

For his part, Hassan Ghazaly, General Coordinator of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, explained that outstanding young leaders from Tanzania, Tunisia, South Africa, China, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Palestine, Sierra Leone, Russia, Morocco, Oman, Jordan, Chad, Pakistan, Cameroon, Lebanon, Armenia, Niger, Mexico and Algeria participated yesterday in a bicycle marathon organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the New Administrative Capital within the celebrations of World Bicycle Day. Yesterday's events also included an introductory session between the participants in the grant from different countries.

It is noteworthy that the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership is one of the executive mechanisms for implementing the recommendations of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to support competencies of African youth, enable them to create a comprehensive and central vision related to global issues and sustainable development plans, and support opportunities to promote the Egyptian role globally. Within the framework of implementing Egypt's vision for the goals of sustainable development 2030 and the African agenda 2063, and South-South cooperation.
