"Youth Delegations" of the Nasser Fellowship for international Leadership participate in the Largest Bicycle Marathon in the New Administrative Capital

 

The youth delegations of the Nasser Fellowship for international Leadership, in its fourth edition, participated this Wednesday morning in a bicycle marathon organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, under the leadership of Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, in the New Administrative Capital, in celebration of the World Bicycle Day. The marathon started in front of the Administrative Control Authority building, heading towards the Governmental District in the New Administrative Capital, passing by some of the capital's landmarks.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasized the importance of organizing a sports marathon for cycling in the New Administrative Capital, in line with the latest international developments to enhance the work system and administrative apparatus of the state. This comes in light of the directives and interest of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, in promoting sports throughout the country, to maintain public health and physical fitness rates for all citizens, especially youth, and to make sports a way of life that achieves one of the most important goals of the state in the field of sports and health, by encouraging young people to practice sports, especially cycling.

Hassan Ghazaly,  the general coordinator of the fourth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for international Leadership, mentioned the participation of youth delegations from countries (Tanzania, Tunisia, South Africa, China, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Palestine, Sierra Leone, Russia, Morocco, Oman, Jordan, Chad, Pakistan, Cameroon, Lebanon, Armenia, Niger, Mexico, and Algeria) in the largest bicycle marathon, with the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, who launched the start signal for the marathon, with the participation of more than 5,000 participants from different governorates.

Ghazaly added that the Nasser Fellowship for international Leadership is one of the executive mechanisms for implementing the recommendations of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, to support the competencies of African youth and enable them to create a comprehensive and pivotal vision related to global issues and sustainable development plans, and to support opportunities for promoting the Egyptian role globally. This comes in the context of implementing Egypt's vision for Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and the African Agenda 2063, and South-South cooperation.
