 Anniversary  assassination of Patrice Lumumba

By Cripso Dialo

In 1975, a Belgian journalist asked "Patrice Lumumba", “How do you demand your independence while you don’t have a single doctor or a lawyer in your country?”. Lumumba answered this saying: “Because you are colonizers, and in the long decades of your occupation you failed in producing a single doctor or a single lawyer, do you expect us to allow you to humiliate us for any further?”

Today is the memory of  “Patrice Lumumba” assassination. The westerners didn’t only kill him, but they dismembered and even dissolved his body in the sulfuric acid, in order to prevent his followers from burying his body and making it a shrine. Westerners were frightened by the fact that people would know who is “Patrice Lumumba”, the man that Malcolm X named “The Greatest African Man alive”. “Patrice Lumumba” strife was legendary, he was opposing the fake independence planned to be given to an African elite, who were supposed to be a shield for the local bourgeoisie as well as the modern colonization, presented in the Western systems and the multinational companies.

Photos from the archive for Egyptian mass demonstrations in Cairo as a protest against Lumamba’s assassination, as well as denouncement of The UN’s disappointing reaction and its complicity with Belgium, The United States, and Moi͏̈se Tshombe.
