The Swahili language is celebrated on July 7 of each year, and Swahili considered to be one of the most widely spoken languages on the African continent after Arabic, where the number of Swahili speakers is more than 200 million speakers, and is ranked among the 10 most widely spoken languages in the world.

The United Nations celebrated World Swahili Language Day under the slogan "Swahili for Unity, Peace and the Promotion of cultural diversity". Swahili is one of the most widely used languages on the African continent and is concentrated in East and Central African countries, and it also has many dialects.

The Swahili language is taught in many universities worldwide, such as those of Egypt, Europe and America, and the Swahili language is also used in many broadcasting and radio stations worldwide such as BBC, VOA, DW, Radio China and directed broadcast in the Radio and Television Building (Maspero) in Egypt.

Swahili is one of the official languages of the African Union as well as in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the East African Community (EAC) and its countries led by Kenya and Uganda.
