The Anniversary of the July 23 Revolution is celebrated on the same day each year, as this revolution is a defining moment in Egypt's contemporary history. This revolution's goals were the elimination of British colonialism and feudalism and the establishment of a democratic life.

The revolution was carried out by the free officers of the Egyptian army, and the revolution succeeded and the free officers succeeded in controlling things, and the revolution received great popular support. The revolution of July 23, 1952, brought about changes in Egypt at all political, economic, and social levels, so the majority of Egyptians received justice, especially those classes of people that suffered from injustice and deprivation.

One of the results of the revolution was that the monarchy was abolished; on the other hand, the Republic was proclaimed, and Major General Mohamed Naguib was appointed the first President of the Arab Republic of Egypt on June 18, 1953, and the 1923 Constitution was abolished. The evacuation agreement for Egypt was signed on October 19, 1954, and the last English soldier left Egypt on June 18, 1956. The Suez Canal Company was nationalised on July 26, 1956.

After the success of the revolution, many major national projects were implemented, including the agricultural reclamation project as well as the High Dam project, which is one of the most important national projects in modern Egyptian history.

On the side of education, the July 23 revolution contributed to making education free, and the Ministry of Higher Education was established in 1961. Culture in Egypt was well fortunate from these contributions; The Ministry of Culture and National Guidance was established in 1958, and Egyptian television was opened in 1960. The Middle East News Agency was established to start its news work on February 28, 1956, and was the first regional agency in the Middle East.
