Prof. Ashraf El-Araby
President of Institute of National Planning
Prof. Ashraf is the President of Institute of National Planning, Advisor to the Arab
Planning Institute, Former Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and
Former Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform in Egypt (2012-
2017). He is a Board Member of the Central Bank of Egypt, the Egyptian Financial
Regularity Authority, as well as a Member of the Coordinating Council for Monetary
and Financial Policies. He is also the Secretary General of the Arab Society for
Economic Research and Member of the Board of Trustees of King Salman
International University. He received his PhD degree in Economics from Kansas State
University- USA in 2004, and is nationallyand internationally recognized in the fields
of planning and development, macro-economic issues and policies, economics of
education and labour markets.
