Assistant Foreign Minister meets with the youth of Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership to discuss the determinants of Egypt’s policy in Africa

Ambassador Abu Bakr Hefny, Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, met with the youth of "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership" in the general headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the activities of "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership" which was launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (African Youth Office and the Central Administration of Parliament), under the auspices of the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madboly, from the 8th to the 22nd of June 2019 in cooperation with the African Youth Union.

 

During the meeting, Hefny discussed the determinants of Egypt’s foreign policy, as he emphasized Egypt's pioneering role in different fields under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Africa, and this comes from the belief of the Egyptian leaders on the importance of Africa, pointing out that the Egyptian Presidency of the African Union constitutes an outstanding role to face disputes and to end chronic crises in the different African regions, which is reflected in the road map aimed at Silencing the Guns by 2020.

 

Hefny explained that Egypt’s foreign policy seeks to reach practical decisions and agreements aimed at consolidating and building bridges of communication with the countries of the African continent to achieve African integration, stressing Egypt's commitment under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to implement the African Union's Agenda 2063 through several programs and plans it offers in various fields.

 

Finally, Hefny referred to a series of interviews and agreements conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with African countries to enhance cooperation with African countries in all fields.
