Dr. Rasha Hussein El-Sayed Mohamed is a dynamic professional making significant contributions in the fields of tourism, heritage, and international relations. Her career is distinguished by a unique combination of academic excellence, hands-on experience at Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and a passion for fostering global cooperation.

Dr. Mohamed’s expertise is built on a strong educational foundation. She holds a PhD in Heritage and Museum Studies from Helwan University, with research focused on promoting accessible tourism in Egypt, specifically in relation to the Holy Family Trail. Her academic achievements also include a master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Management and another in Humanities and Social Sciences from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where she specialized in the management of cultural and natural heritage sites and tourism assessment. Adding to her diverse skill set, she recently completed an MBA from ESLSCA Business School in Paris.

In her current role as a Senior Tourism Specialist and Technical Member in the Department of International Relations and Agreements at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Mohamed plays a key role in shaping Egypt’s tourism sector. Her responsibilities include organizing training programs for African nations in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing Egypt at international conferences such as the UNWTO Conference in Barcelona, and preparing tourism memorandums of understanding with various countries. She also facilitates visits by ministry guests and participates in meetings held at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Before joining the Ministry, Dr. Mohamed gained valuable experience as a licensed tour guide for several international travel agencies, where she led customized tours for both groups and individuals, designed itineraries, and provided historical and cultural insights to tourists.

Her commitment extends beyond her professional duties. She has been actively involved in volunteer work, including participation in the 27th UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, the Volunteer Forum of the Egyptian Special Olympics, and various tourism-related events.

Her dedication and accomplishments have been recognized through numerous letters of appreciation and acknowledgments from organizations such as the National Training Academy, the Arab Tourism Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and UNESCO.
