As we commemorate the fourth Anniversary of the founding of Nasser Youth Movement, allow me to express my deepest appreciation to the administration of this forum and especially to its founding Father Mr. Hassan Ali Ghazaly.
Nasser Youth Movement is a social and cultural networking platform that trains distinguished young people across the world on the leadership values so that they become active and effective participants in decision makings process in their respective countries.
Before sharing my experience during my participation in this programme, allow me to give you a brief picture about sir Jamal Abdel Nasser to whom this forum is named after. Nasser was the second President of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the modern history. He ascended to power in 1956 as the legitimate President of the Republic four years after the success of July 23, Revolution of 1952 where he and his Military Command officers managed to overthrow the imperial regime of King Faruok who was governing Egypt under British Monarchy.
Nasser was seen as the catalyst and engine behind the Revolution of 23rd July 1952 due to his charismatic leadership and determination to see new political dispensation in his country.
After the revolution Nasser also decided to assist Arab, African and other Lakin American nations to fight for their independence and freedoms from colonial powers under what they called Non-Aligned Movement. He and the Founding Father of the Republic of Ghana Kwame Nkurumah and many others were the ones instigating the liberation struggles of many African and Arab countries and this is referenced by the revolutionary statement made by Nkurumah in 1957 when he said " The Independence of Ghana would be meaningless unless it's linked with the independence of other African countries". This is what I can recall on the historical backdrop of Nasser.
On personal level as Alumnus at batch (2) in Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership organised by this forum in 2021 under the auspices of Egyptian President H.E Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, I managed to comprehend the power of diversity and unity given my interaction with many youth from different parts of the world. I have realized that it's not about color, religion, neither geography but it is all about knowing that all Human are created equal with purpose to achieve together on the face of this earth.
I learned the significance of coming together as people to make a difference is a collective aim which we should promote irrespective of distinction such as race, creed and geography so that we realize lasting and sustainable development in the world.
The Nasser Fellowship in which I participated not only as a member but also as one of the organizers and media personnel created for me both regional and international friends and to me this is unforgettable part and benefit which I shall utilize for the betterment of my future and future of my country and world at large.
