The first postage stamp issued in Egypt on the occasion of "Mother's Day" was during the reign of Leader Gamal Abdel Nasser on March 21, 1957, and its value was 10 millimes. 

The first year in which Mother's Day was celebrated in Egypt was the year 1965, when March 21 was chosen to be Mother's Day.. it is also the first day of spring which was taken as a symbol of openness, serenity and beautiful feelings.. Actually, the idea itself came out from Egypt and spread to other Arab countries..
