Khaled Mahyaz, an international expert in volunteering and a graduate of the Nasser Fellowship for international Leadership, manages the National Forum in Algeria on "Mechanisms and Perspectives of Volunteer Work." as a supervisor, The event was organized by the Algerian Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund at the Golden Tulip Hotel in the capital, Algiers, on December 5th and 6th. The forum was attended by Minister Hammad Abdel Rahman, the Minister of Youth and Sports, and a group of participants from various ministries, national security, and civil institutions.

The Minister of Youth and Sports emphasized the importance of the forum in enhancing the volunteering path in the country and highlighted the role of youth as a reservoir of national energy and valuable opportunities leading Algeria towards a promising future, in line with the vision of President Abdelmajid Tebboune. He pointed out that organizing and structuring volunteer work within legal and regulatory frameworks aims to establish a cooperative generation interested in adopting volunteer work policies, which is the greatest guarantee for building a cohesive society free from selfishness and self-interest. He expressed the hope that your recommendations and the outcomes of this forum would include these aspects.

The Minister concluded his speech by officially announcing the launch of the "Green Youth Plan," in line with the directives and instructions of President Abdelmajid Tebboune, particularly regarding the importance of involving youth energies in the project to rehabilitate, expand, and develop the green dam.

In a related context, the international expert in volunteering, Khaled Mahyaz, stated to the Algerian national media, "We aim to instill the values of volunteer work in our youth for the development of patriotism and service to the country. This is achieved by celebrating the International Volunteer Day, which falls on December 5th annually. The Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund, organized on December 5th and 6th, 2023, this national forum on the mechanisms and perspectives of volunteer work in Algeria. Three specialized workshops were held to enhance the capabilities of participants in various fields.

Mahyaz further explained that the most prominent workshops were titled "Structuring and Organizing Volunteer Work," aiming to enhance the capacities of youth in the volunteer field and engage in digital volunteering, also known as E-volunteers. These workshops included sessions for sharing experiences and expertise in the field of volunteer work among various sectors and partners in volunteer work in Algeria.

Mahyaz concluded by confirming that the forum resulted in several recommendations, all of which emphasize the need to institutionalize volunteer work, establish a national action plan, and provide suggestions to improve volunteer work in Algeria. He noted that the forum witnessed broad participation from various actors in volunteer work representing 58 provinces, along with the participation of official bodies. Additionally, the forum included the organization of a specialized roundtable discussion titled "Perspectives and Mechanisms of Volunteer Work in Algeria," in which elite figures from the field of volunteering in Algeria participated.
