In the context of strengthening cultural and intellectual relations between Egypt and the African continent, the Supreme Council of Culture is organizing an extensive seminar entitled "African Languages and Literatures: Contemporary Issues and Visions," at ten o'clock tomorrow morning, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in the Council's conference hall. The seminar is held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henawy, Minister of Culture, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University, with the participation of Hassan Ghazaly, anthropological researcher, founder of the Nasser International Forum and member of the Supreme Council of Culture, alongside a number of academics and specialists in African affairs.
The seminar seeks to discuss contemporary issues related to African languages and literatures, while reviewing new visions for enhancing cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange among the peoples of the continent. This event is an important platform to review the challenges and opportunities facing African literature and language in the current era, in light of the cultural and political transformations taking place on the continent.
In this context, Hassan Ghazaly, anthropological researcher, founder of the Nasser International Forum and the Global Solidarity Network, affirmed that the forum includes a set of programs and initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue and building capacities among youth at the national and international levels. Among the most prominent of these programs are the Nasser Youth International Movement Program to support bilateral relations between countries, and the training and qualification program for student cadres in the fields of translation and international media, in addition to the articles and opinions portal, which provides a space for independent opinion and contributes to enriching African thought.
Ghazaly pointed out that the forum's website is witnessing increasing engagement, with the number of unique visitors reaching 73,119, while the total number of visits reached 134,592. These figures reflect the great interest in African cultural issues and the importance of the forum in promoting dialogue among the peoples of the continent. He added that the forum includes diverse articles in several languages, including Arabic (1545 articles), Swahili (1300 articles), Spanish (700 articles), English (700 articles), and French (660 articles), which reflects the linguistic diversity of the forum's role in exchanging knowledge between African countries and promoting communication between the continent's multiple cultures.
It is worth noting that the Nasser International Leadership Forum has formed a pioneering platform in the field of cultural and political communication between African and international youth. Its website provides content in several languages, including Arabic, English, French, Spanish, and Swahili. The adoption of the Swahili language on the forum's portal clearly reflects a commitment to establishing the principles of cultural communication and continental belonging, and expanding the base of political awareness among African youth, especially in the East and Central Africa regions.
